Mayamei Cacao is a brand born to support cacao-growing families through high-quality, sustainable, and socially responsible cacao products. Our story begins with Meivis Ortiz’s lifelong connection to cacao. She grew up on a cacao farm in the Bocas del Toro region, one of Panama’s largest tropical forest reserves—an area rich in history, culture, tradition, paradisiacal islands, and beaches, with climate and soil perfectly suited for cultivating fine-flavor cacao. As the daughter of farmers and a trained agronomist, Meivis knows every detail of farm care, the selection of the best cacao varieties, and the processes needed to produce a high-quality cacao product.

We contribute to the human development of cacao-growing families, protect the environment, and highlight the culture, history, and tradition of cacao cultivation. We offer high-quality products with local and tropical flavors that reflect our identity. More than 60% of the cacao used in our products comes from women-led cacao farms, with whom we maintain trusted relationships. This allows us to contribute directly and meaningfully to the local economy and to female empowerment. We share knowledge, collaborate, and provide guidance on sustainable production practices and quality processes to create fine-flavor chocolate.
